Getting Started

Make sure to use Paxton Net2 Access Control Version 6.7 or higher. It might also work with older or newer version, but the integration was tested with this specific version.

Step 1: Enabling the API inside Net2

  1. Run the application 'Net2 Configuration Utility'.

  2. Click on the 'Security' tab within Net2.

  3. Select 'Enable LocalAPI' and press apply.

  4. You will be advised to restart the services, so please restart it if its not automatically done by the system.

  5. The LocalAPI service is now running.

Step 2: Enable certain settings in Net2

  1. Go to the 'General' tab.

  2. Enable the checkmark "Enable 50,000 user mode". Once you enabled that, you should be able to see the PIN length field.

  3. Set the PIN length to 8 digits. This setting must be set to 8 digits for the two systems to work.

Step 3: Obtain and install the Paxton Net2 API licence

Get in contact with us to receive the system API license and the respective Client ID details from Kinnovis.

  1. When you received your Licence File

    1. Do not rename or edit this file, as it will invalidate the licence.

  2. Install the Licence File

    • Go back to the Security tab of the Net Configuration Utility and launch the Local API Config Utility by pressing the button.

    • Go to tab "Licence Install" and install the licence with the provided license file of Kinnovis.

  3. Restart the Net2 Service (idealy restart the PC to avoid experiencing issues)
