This feature allows you to charge for extra products or services—such as physical items, additional services, or specific fees—alongside your storage unit rentals, offering flexibility and new revenue opportunities.
Whether it’s an optional padlock fee, a mandatory electricity charge, or a reservation fee, you have full control over how these products are configured and applied.
By tailoring optional or mandatory add-ons to specific unit types, you can enhance the booking process, generate additional revenue, and provide a more comprehensive service for your customers.
What types of products can you set up?
One-time products: Charges applied only once, such as padlocks, moving boxes, or reservation fees.
Recurring products: Charges applied on a regular basis (e.g., weekly or monthly), such as electricity fees, shelf rentals, or maintenance fees.
You can configure these products for specific unit types as either:
Mandatory: Products, charges or fees that are automatically added to a specific unit type. If the product is published in the booking portal, the customer cannot remove these during checkout.
Optional: Customers can choose to add these products or services during the booking process.
This setting can be customised and linked to specific unit types, allowing you to decide whether a product applies to all unit types or only selected ones. This way, the right products are shown to the right customers.
Use Case: Charging for electrictiy
Some of your unit types include electricity plugs, while others do not. If electricity usage is an optional service, you can allow customers to decide whether they want to add it. To do this, you can create a recurring product called "Electricity", mark it as optional, and link it specifically to the unit types with electricity plugs. This ensures the right product is offered to the appropriate customers seamlessly.
