Changing the payment method of a booking

Introduction

Your customers can easily change their payment methods in the Customer Portal (see this article). In some cases, however, they may ask you to handle this for them.

To keep this process fast and flexible, you can also update the payment method for a booking directly from the Kinnovis Manager. When doing so, you can also optionally charge all unpaid invoices automatically using the updated payment method.

How to use change the payment method

  1. Open the booking you want to update

  2. Click Actions

  3. Select Update payment method

A popup will open, allowing you to adjust how the customer pays for the booking.

When updating the payment method, you’ll see a checkbox:

“Switch the payment method of any unpaid invoices to this payment method.”

  • The checkbox is enabled by default

  • When enabled, all unpaid (status: open, past due) invoices for the booking are charged immediately

  • Future invoices will also use the newly selected payment method

If the checkbox is disabled, any unpaid invoices remain open and must be paid manually via their payment links.
