What you need to prepare to connect Visor to Kinnovis
Since Visor operates on local servers or private infrastructure rather than the cloud, the system relies on a consistent, direct connection between the control units and the Visor server. Without a fixed IP, dynamic IP changes could break this local connection, causing disruptions.
To connect Kinnovis to the local Visor server and build an integration, you will need to ensure the following configurations are in place:
1) Obtain a Fixed (Static) IP Address: You'll need to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to request a static IP address. Keep in mind that some ISPs might charge for this service.
2) Port Forwarding:
Access Router Settings: Log in to your router’s admin panel. This is usually done by entering your router's IP address (commonly 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) into a web browser.
Locate Port Forwarding Section: This is often found under 'Advanced Settings' or 'NAT Forwarding'
3) Set Up Port Forwarding:
External Port: Set this to 8080 (or the port you defined in Step #1)
Internal IP Address: Enter your computer's local IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.100)
Internal Port: Also set this to 8080 (or the port you defined in Step #1)
Protocol: Choose TCP (or both TCP/UDP if you're unsure)
4) Allow Firewall Access:
Open 'Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security'.
Go to 'Inbound Rules' and click 'New Rule'.
Choose 'Port', then specify 8080 (or the port you defined in Step #1) and allow the connection.
A network administrator might be able to support you, especially if you are working with complex network configurations. Kindly be advices that Kinnovis' support team cannot help you to set this up for you.
Next, you need to connect the Kinnovis Manager to Visor.
