Note: This integration requires making your local Visor server accessible through a static IP address on the public internet.

The Visor integration seamlessly syncs your access control system with Kinnovis, ensuring that your customers’ access to their storage units is automatically managed without manual intervention.

  • Move-in Date: From this date, the customer’s access to their unit is automatically granted.

  • Move-out Date: Access is automatically withdrawn when the move-out date is reached.

You also have the option to manually revoke access, for example, to enforce payment for overdue invoices.

Important Information for Operators who are already using Visor

If you are already using Visor and following the steps below to establish a connection, it's important to know that:

  1. Manually revoking/restoring access

  2. Automatically revoking/restoring access through the Auto-Lock feature

will lead to overwriting the access groups in Visor with those defined in the unit mapping. This means that Visor users who have multiple access groups not reflected in the default unit mapping will lose these additional permissions.

How the integration sync data between Kinnovis and Visor

After you established a connection between Kinnovis and Visor, the Kinnovis system automatically sync the defined access groups to the Visor system. Let's review the entire integration lifecycle with an example:

  1. You have established the connection between Kinnovis and Visor.

  2. You have mapped all your units in the Kinnovis system to the access groups of Visor.

  3. A new customer "Pierre" books unit "Box 001" with a future move-in date (for example, the 1st of next month).

  4. The unit "Box 001" is assigned to the Visor access group "Box 001 - 8 AM / 8 PM"

  5. When the booking is created in Kinnovis, no data is synced to Visor until the move-in day arrives.

  6. On the 1st of next month, Kinnovis syncs the data to Visor in the early morning (around 2 AM). At this point, you will see user "Pierre" and their access group "Box 001 - 8 AM / 8 PM" in Visor.

  7. If you want to give "Pierre" 24/7 access afterwards, you can change the assigned access group on the booking to "Box 001 - 24/7".

Note: This is just a basic example, there also other use case which are supported by the integration, such as manual revoke/restore access as well as auto-lock units for overdue invoices.

How the Visor integration works for your customers

Once the move-in date is reached, your customers will receive an email (you need to setup the email manually first), with the PIN code to access the booked unit. You can also provide additional information to the welcome email.

Now, please follow the step by step guide to setup the integration between Kinnovis and Visor.
